Mississippi Levee Board members retain seats

Ginger Morlino, secretary of the Levee Board administers the Oath of Office to the newly, re-elected commissioners
Kenny Rodgers - Humphreys County,
Nott Wheeler, Jr. - Bolivar County,
Laurance Carter - Sharkey County,
and Johnny Robinson - Washington County
as Commissioners for the Mississippi Levee Board.

The election for Levee Board commissioners was held on Tuesday, June 4, 2002. Held every two years, this election saw four present members reelected to continue on in their position. They are: Nott Wheeler, Jr., representing Bolivar County; Laurance Carter, representing Sharkey County; Kenny Rodgers, representing Humphreys County; and Johnny Robinson, representing Washington County. All but Robinson faced opposition in their respective races.

The other three seats on the seven member board will be up for reelection in 2004.
