ORGANIZATION

The Board of Mississippi Levee Commissioners consists of 7 commissioners elected from their respective counties. The Levee District contains Bolivar, Washington, Issaquena and Sharkey counties, along with a part of Humphreys and Warren counties. The Board historically appoints the Chief Engineer who is responsible for the day to day operations. The normal staff employed consists of an Assistant Engineer, Attorney, Treasurer, Secretary, Maintenance Superintendent, Engineering Technician and a field maintenance crew (usually 6 employees).

BOARD MEETINGS

The Board of Mississippi Levee Commissioners has regularly scheduled meetings held at the Levee Board office (located at 2283 Hwy. 82 West, Greenville, MS) on the 2nd Monday in January and July and the 1st Monday in April and October. The Board's fiscal year runs from July 1 - June 30 and the Board itself is reorganized every two years following the regular scheduled election.
