SLIDE REPAIRS
Every
winter and spring heavy rains create slides in the levee surface.
This is a major maintenance responsibility that the Corps
of Engineers handles in late summer or early fall. The Corps
of Engineers utilizes their equipment to push out the slide
material, mix it with lime, and replace and compact the mixture
back into the levee structure.
